The Krishonnati Yojana is an umbrella scheme launched by the Government of India to boost the agriculture sector. It was approved in 2016 and implemented from 2017-18 to 2019-20. The scheme aims to develop the agriculture and allied sectors holistically and scientifically to increase farmers' income by enhancing production, productivity, and better returns on produce.
Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH): Promotes holistic growth of the horticulture sector.
National Food Security Mission (NFSM): Aims to increase production of rice, wheat, pulses, coarse cereals, and commercial crops.
National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA): Focuses on promoting sustainable agriculture practices.
Sub-Mission on Seeds and Planting Material (SMSP): Aims to increase production of certified/quality seeds and strengthen the seed multiplication chain.
Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM): Promotes farm mechanization, especially for small and marginal farmers.
Sub-Mission on Plant Protection and Plant Quarantine (SMPPQ): Focuses on plant protection and quarantine measures.
Sub-Mission on Agriculture Extension (SMAE): Aims to achieve food and nutritional security and socio-economic empowerment of farmers.
Integrated Scheme on Agricultural Marketing (ISAM): Enhances agricultural marketing infrastructure.
National e-Governance Plan in Agriculture (NeGP-A): Promotes the use of ICT tools in agriculture.
